Clinical Concatenation of Stories: A Scheme to Explore, Investigate, to Study Stories Eliciting other Stories
A Story never stands alone. A Story informs another story. By the time one proves a story, it has already connected to myriad of other stories. Some may be fictitious, some may be real. Other stories will tell. If it is important to prove a story is right and if the connections are legitimate, it is as necessary to look at the connections and see where they lead. It's not just a literature review, all meant to prove the story, neither is it a context leading to the relative meaningfulness of a new inquiry. It is the bedside of the story, how it came about, to be. It took many stories to get there, it will take many more to go farther, and it will. Stories evolve, they are more than social facts, as it takes stories before the social fact and it takes stories to give it meaning afterward. This is not just a context, it is an expandable context, elaborate and full of life, replete with connections, and the mixed methods are just to decipher the relatively precise ways phenomena ate strongly connected there, but the crucible of the story is there, moving the stories like the bed of a river.
It is in that clinical environment that we elicit the meaning of a research story, exploring all the relationships, all the networks related to the story. As we engage the technical procedures, it is essential that we don't lose sight of story's bed of circumstances, conjectures and even the conjuncture at which we study the story. It takes an intimate exploration in time and space or all the meanders the phenomenon is immersed into so that we make sense of the meaning of it. As we look at the stories surrounding its happenstance, we get a better feeling of its direction and how meaningful it is to other stories that happened and that will happen. It is always a Concatenation of stories that carry insights and that give meaning to connections, otherwise, the researcher, after having pinpointed the relative specificity of a single phenomenon, will project its gaze on it and influence the way other people see it and its related networks, and sometimes that gaze may be skewed, when there's not an going conversation with whoever has a stake in it or whatever has a stake in it.
